The 5th Trout Town Youth Lacrosse Invitational Tournament and Festival will be held the weekend of August 13th. In partnership with premiere tournament and event coordinator, Upstate Lacrosse, along with Lacrosse stick maker Powell Lacrosse and Roscoe Campsite Park, this unique event was created to bring together North America’s Native sport with the beauty and grandeur of the Catskills Mountains hosted in the charming town of Roscoe NY, all for charitable causes specifically chosen each year to directly benefit from this amazing celebration.

The Festivities include a pre-game dinner celebration, the main event tournament, games, prizes and raffles, local food and drink being served, demonstrations that have included trick shots, stick stringing and history of the game, as well as all the amenities Roscoe Campsite Park has to offer. Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Fly Fishing and Fly Tying, River Tubing, Feeding our stable of animals, that include Alpacas, Dwarf Goats, Rabbits and more. Experience all the wonders of downtown Roscoe NY. Following an afternoon of fun activities, settle in for RCP’s down home BBQ and listen to some really incredible Live Music.

The tournament has directly supported some of our favorite charities including, Harlem Lacrosse, US Lacrosse, Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism and the KeiraStrong foundation supporting children with Leukemia. The 2017 inaugural youth girls game featured Keira Enright, leukemia survivor and inspiration behind the Keira Strong Foundation.

The 2022 Invitational will be highlighting the Casey Powell World Lacrosse Foundation, along with Keira Strong Foundation. The CPWLF mission is to support severely injured and sick lacrosse players and their families. Volunteers, donors, and supporters fuel The Casey Powell World Lacrosse Foundation as it strives to support as many severely injured and sick lacrosse players and their families each year. Lacrosse is a family. The foundation has taken that principle and applied it across as many lacrosse families as we can reach. By visiting players of lacrosse families in the hospitals, rehab centers, or their own homes the CPWLF provides a tangible layer of support and encouragement on that player’s journey toward wellness. We provide a venue to promote the awareness of good causes, to raise funds for those in need and to continue cheering our lungs out in support for lacrosse families throughout the recovery process.

The Tournament

This event is planned in a way so families can make it into a full weekend of fun in the Catskills. Day trippers can enjoy the ease of travel and access to this unique Roscoe Campsite Park, which will host outdoor movies, fishing, kayaking, hiking, river tubing, hay rides and a BBQ Saturday night. Day trippers are welcome to enjoy all the events at the Park. The tournament will have play areas for kids, along with lacrosse demonstrations and history of the game exhibits. On hand to referee and demonstrate will be current and former College/Pro players.

Inspiration for this idea was hatched as an opportunity to bring a lacrosse community together in an amazing Catskill mountain setting. The town Roscoe NY, provided the perfect back drop. A historic charming town with so much to offer. The tournament itself will be played with the principles of courage, heart, honor, respect and hard work. Parents will be left to watch, Coaches will be left to coach and the kids will be left to play. Simple.
